About Us: Meet Dr. Thrash
Dr. Candace Thrash was born in Texas City, Texas and graduated from Georgetown High School in Georgetown, Texas. She attended college at the University of Texas at Austin where she earned a B.A. in Biology. Dr. Thrash then moved to Houston, where she completed a year of graduate studies at the University of Texas Health Science Center there, followed by two years of work in the Department of Urology at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Thrash completed her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she was a member of the prestigious AOA honor society. After completing her medical internship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Thrash finished her training with a three year residency in Dermatology at the famous Cook County Hospital, also in Chicago, where she treated patients from over 85 different countries.
Dr. Thrash has been working in private practice since 2003 and is Board Certified in Dermatology. She worked in Chicago for five years after completing her residency training and gained extensive experience as a clinical instructor, clinical investigator, public speaker, and as the owner of her own busy medical practice. She moved to Austin in 2008 and worked for over 2 years in a practice on the northwest side of the city before joining Austin Dermatology and Drippings Springs Dermatology Associates.
Dr. Thrash enjoys all aspects of dermatology and prides herself on providing compassionate, customized care to every patient. She enjoys treating psoriasis, acne, and eczema and takes her role in the early detection and treatment of skin cancer very seriously. She treats patients of all ages and performs non-surgical cosmetic procedures including botox and fillers. Patient education is an important part of every encounter, and the doctor enjoys offering advice on skin care products that are specifically tailored to the patient’s goals and budget.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Thrash enjoys running, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and two children.
